# Is a breach and attack simulation platform worth it for a mid-size security team?

Hi G2 community! We are researching breach and attack simulation (BAS) software that provides a good ROI for a mid-sized team

Cymulate: The SaaS architecture means no on-premises infrastructure to deploy or maintain, which directly addresses the mid-size team's IT resource constraint. Cymulate highlights what is actually exploitable, which significantly improves how the team prioritizes remediation.

Picus Security: Agent installation is described as straightforward with well-structured documentation, and the platform's prebuilt attack simulations are explicitly noted as easier for teams without dedicated threat simulation specialists to utilize. The vendor-specific remediation output telling a team exactly which signature to download or which firmware to upgrade reduces the expertise required to act on simulation findings.

Adaptive Security: For mid-size teams where the most frequent attack surface is the employee population rather than complex infrastructure configurations, Adaptive Security's generative AI phishing and social engineering simulation directly addresses the highest-probability attack vector without requiring deep technical BAS expertise to operate.

Defendify All-In-One Cybersecurity Solution: For mid-size teams with limited security headcount that need BAS capability alongside vulnerability scanning, phishing simulation, and managed detection without maintaining separate vendor relationships for each, Defendify's all-in-one model reduces the operational overhead that makes individual enterprise tools impractical.

Right-Hand Cybersecurity: The behavioral coaching and continuous risk measurement provide a cost-effective entry point into the continuous security validation category without the full complexity of an enterprise BAS deployment.

For mid-size security teams that have deployed a BAS platform, what was the finding that most clearly justified the investment to leadership? Was it a specific control gap that BAS found before an attacker did, or was it the cumulative evidence of posture improvement over time?

The cumulative posture improvement evidence seems to build the stronger internal case than any single dramatic finding, based on the vendor case studies I've reviewed. Leadership tends to trust trends more than individual events.
